As part of Elena Marchevska’s Restock Rethink Reflect Four residency exploring Live Art practices and methodologies in relation to the experiences of the displaced, she invited Tanja Ostojić to run a two day workshop Misplaced Women? in which participants interrogated some of the realities of displacement such as travelling, identity, illegality, security, and the private/public through the unpacking of a suitcase in a resonant public place. Tanja and the workshop participants also presentd a free public performance based on their workshop experiences.
Outcomes have been included on the Misplaced Women? project website (see here and here).
Documentation of the public performance can also be viewed here.
Restock, Rethink, Reflect (RRR) is an ongoing series mapping underrepresented artists, practices and histories. The series aims to mark the impact of Live Art practitioners and practices, whilst supporting future generations through artist’s development opportunities, resources, projects, and publications.
Following the first three Restock, Rethink, Reflect projects on race (2006-08), disability (2009-12), and feminism (2013 -15) Restock, Rethink, Reflect Four (2016-18) is on issues of Live Art and privilege.
