With the Drama Department at Queen Mary University of London we present a day of discussions around kickstarting and maintaining a Live Art practice, and an opportunity to find out more about the exciting MA Live Art programme that began in September 2018 in a new partnership between Queen Mary and LADA.

 

Part 1: (aimed at students, artists, educators, those interested in MA Live Art) – 2.30-4.45pm

A series of conversation between practitioners and producers on kickstarting and sustaining a Live Art Practice in 2019 and onwards:

Artists Lois Weaver and Martin O'Brien on sustaining a practice

Artists Franko B and Nando Messias on documenting, critical writing, and archiving

Producers Phoebe Patey-Ferguson and Jen Smethurst on networking and connecting

Artists, curators, arts-workers Joseph Morgan Schofield and Jordan McKenzie on the artist as… (artist as curator, artist as researcher, artist as activist, artist as curator, artist as day-jobber)

 

Part 2: (aimed at arts professionals, artists, those interested in MA Live Art) – 5.45-7.45pm

Introducing the MA Live Art and a keynote lecture by Brian Catling:

Opportunities to see a selection of new work by current students on the MA Live followed by Brian Catling’s lecture, FICTIONAL EVIDENCE, The art of performing imagined crimes, and a Q&A with Brian Catling and Dominic Johnson of Queen Mary University of London.
