Are you an ‘extreme performance artist’, working with piercing, cutting, hook suspension, endurance or other ways that place your body at the centre of your work? Would you like more support to ensure your safety and the safety of your performances and your performance spaces in relation to health and safety requirements, risk management, fees and techniques, and to support programmers and producers in understanding the specific needs of your work?
The aim of the Extreme Performance Association is to work towards creating a group to support performers of this ilk and develop guidelines and a collaborative document for use by artists and promoters to help get suitable support for specialist needs.
Please join the EPA for their first meeting. To sign up please email Amy Kingsmill and include a short line about your practice, how long you’ve been performing, and some of the challenges you face.
