Liverpool Live 06 – a festival of urban apparition

For the Liverpool Biennial 2006, Bluecoat Arts Centre present Liverpool Live, four day series of interventions, occurrences and happenings that punctuate the shifting landscape of the city centre.

Responding to the idea of Archipuncture, proposed by Manray Hsu for Liverpool Biennial's International programme, Liverpool Live will trace, re-examine, interrupt and ultimately re-energise the routes, buildings, and landmarks of the changing city.

The streets, public spaces, shops and other buildings in the city become sites for performances, talks, walks, tours and actions, many of them created specifically for Liverpool Live 06. In more intimate locations, hidden spaces are imaginatively revealed, whilst at night the social environment of pub and club are evoked.

Contributing artists include: Action Hero, Juliet Ellis, Fictional Dogshelf Theatre Company, Mat Fraser/Max Zadow, FrenchMottershead, Sean Hawkridge, Kazuko Hohki, LIGNA, Lone Twin, Hayley Newman, Plan B, The Vacuum Cleaner, Qasim Riza Shaheen, Joshua Sofaer, Wrights and Sites, and Marcus Young.
