LADA is delighted to announce that it is a partner on the COLLAB Arts Partnership Programme (CAPP) which has been awarded Creative Europe funding.
Led by Create-Ireland, the programme is an exciting cultural partnership between organisations in Ireland, UK, Hungary, Spain, Finland and Germany to enhance professional opportunities and training for artists who work collaboratively.
CAPP’s partner orgnaistions are Create-Ireland, AGORA Collective (Germany), Hablarenarte (Spain), Kunsthalle Osnabruck (Germany), Live Art Development Agency (UK), Ludwig Museum – Museum of Contemporary Art (Hungary), M-Cult (Finland) and Tate Liverpool (UK).
Collectively the partners will initiate an ambitious transnational programme over a period of 46 months. The different strands of the programme will cumulatively build skills and competences and offer professional development opportunities for artists through a series of workshops, residencies, commissions, presentations and a final showcase to be held in 2017. At the heart of the project is a goal to open up more opportunities for collaborative artists and enhance their European mobility.
Additionally, CAPP aims to engage with EU cultural sector policy makers, academics, cross-sector partners, communities and audiences in the partner countries and beyond to facilitate knowledge exchange and cultural policy development. CAPP will support the networking of artists to increase their mobility, to avail of new opportunities, and to generate new social, democratic models through expanded understanding of collaborative practices.
The award represents the largest funding amount from European Cultural funds for a project led by an Irish cultural organisation. Patrick Fox of Create-Ireland, Project Leader for CAPP, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be working on this very exciting cross European partnership initiative which will bring Irish artists in the collaborative arena to the attention of many European arts organisations, enhancing Irish artists' European mobility and opening up new opportunities for them. We are also delighted by the acknowledgement from the Creative Europe programme of the relevance and significance of the project proposal to the broader EU cultural sector.”
