Announcing The New Board of The Live Art Development Agency

The Live Art Development Agency has been through a period of significant change and upheaval over the past year or more, but we are now pleased to let you know that a new exciting phase is beginning. With the help and support of LADA patrons, the former board of directors has now been replaced by a completely new board as of July 2023.

We are now:

  • Robin Deacon (Chair)
  • Gill Lloyd (Treasurer)
  • Angela Bartram
  • Aaron Wright

We are all experienced cultural leaders from across the sector, and will be working closely with Arts Council England with the aim of LADA re-entering the NPO within the next six months. This outcome will provide the stability to recruit permanent leadership in the new year.

This is also to confirm that previous co-directors Barak adé Soleil and Chinasa Vivian Ezugha departed LADA earlier this year. The new board wishes them well for the future. As LADA charts its next steps, the new board is working with artist Ria Righteous as Interim Director for a period of one year. Tania Camara has taken on the role of Interim Artist Development Manager for the same period. Further appointments will be made in the near future to further strengthen the organisation. In the meantime, we are happy to welcome back LADA staff as we aim to fully reopen the Garrett Centre, study room and Unbound shop in due course.

The new board would like to express our thanks for the ongoing expressions of support and concern during a difficult time in LADA’s history. Our aim is to rebuild goodwill and trust, not only between LADA and Arts Council England, but with the wider live art community. Going forward, all public communications attributed to the LADA Board of Directors will have the objective of providing clarity and transparency. We look forward to keeping you informed of all developments as we seek to secure LADA’s future.

Find out more about each of your new Board of Directors.

With very best wishes,
Robin Deacon, Gill Lloyd, Angela Bartram and Aaron Wright
